Leila Morrissey began her photographic career in commercial and editorial photography, after graduating with a distinction average from RMIT in 2005. Since then she has lived in New York, Berlin and Bangalore, before moving back to Melbourne in 2015.

Leila has pursued her artistic work through group and individual exhibitions, residencies and various location-specific projects including the Death and Beauty series, Hey Moon It’s Just You and Me Tonight and Abandoned Berlin.

In 2014, she was awarded The Ian Potter Cultural Trust grant. With this she completed a one-month residency at Listhüs, Iceland. This work was first exhibited at Gaffa in Sydney as has now be brought back to Leila’s hometown of Melbourne.
